The Island
Sangiang Island is the closest island from Anyer beach in west Java. You can see the island from mainland Java on most of the time. The island itself is quite big and the coastline area varies from white sandy beach to a cliff. There are local villagers who stay in the island.
Logistics
Located in Sunda Strait, between Sumatra and Java, Sangiang Island is easily accessible from Jakarta. The first step is to drive 1.5 hours to Anyer port. The drive depends on traffic, which can sometimes be quite heavy as there are several congested traditional markets on the way. The road path is actually the same route as the path to go to Krakatau.
It will usually took you 1 hour of boat ride to reach the island and off course it will all depends on the weather conditions which can sometimes be very rough. Diving
The diving in Sangiang Island is quite unique to the area as Sangiang Island sites offer a variety of underwater topography from slopes to walls and from reef to soft coral and anemone garden. As the island is pretty big in size consequently it has many dive sites to explore for the divers. Dive spots such as Batu Mandi, Cave, Legon Waru, Batu Raden, Kedondong and some other dive spot. Generally diving at Sangiang Island can be for all divers certification as it is considered to be easy dive even tough sometimes current can be quite strong in this area. Therefore our 10 years experience diving in Sangiang Island will make sure that you are always in a safety limits. Visibility in Sangiang can vary from 5 to 10 meters.
